A New Meme

20 years ago…
I was 15 years old, and was finishing my freshman year of high school. Though I got good grades, I never liked school. (So I was glad it was almost summer vacation! )… When not in school I enjoyed going to youth group at church, reading, and hanging out with my friends.

10 years ago…
I had been married for almost 2 years, and we’d been in our first house for almost a year. We were in the process of remodeling our bathroom that year… We were also smack dab in the middle of our infertile years, but I was still enjoying all the babies born that year to my friends and family… Though my heart was breaking. We also started the adoption process, to adopt through the state. (Though we brought that to an end in ‘97 when I got pregnant with Jared)

5 years ago…
I was happily pregnant with my first girl, while happily parenting my boys. Motherhood had turned out to be everything (and more) that I had expected, and I was quite happy… And very thrilled to be buying pink clothes! We tried to sell our home that year (to find something bigger), but the Lord wasn’t ready for us to move yet.

3 years ago…
I was happily pregnant again, this time with Amanda. I was having a harder pregnancy than normal though, and ended up with pre-eclampsia… We also started homeschooling in the beginning of the year, as Jared had turned 5. He did kindergarten in January through June, then started first grade in September.

So far this year…
We’ve sold our house, and are currently living in a temporary home, as our new home is being built. We’ve finished up our 4th school year… Jared just finished 3rd grade, Josh finished 1st grade, and Alicia finished pre-school.

Yesterday…
I did my basic morning chores, and then as soon as Joe came home from work we headed out to the new property. We got to watch them finish up the foundation for the house, and signed some papers for the contractor. Then we spent the evening with Joe’s parents.

Today…
I cleaned the bathrooms, mopped the floors, and did some laundry. Joe’s sister brought her twins over to spend the next two nights, so we had some extra kids to care for. I plan on relaxing with a movie, now that the kids are snoozin’.

Tomorrow…
I plan on trying to keep the house clean, while dealing with 6 kids who get into an excited frenzy while they are together! … Just staying sane will be the goal of the day!

In the next year…
We plan to get our new home set up how we like it… Financially, it will take a while to get everything we want done (like a new fence, a shed, a deck, a patio for the kids’ pool, shelving in the house, etc). I also plan to continue homeschooling… I hope to lose some weight too, so I can get pregnant one last time.
