A Sentence Per Year
I’ve seen this meme on a couple blogs, and I thought it was cool. You’re to write one sentence per year of your life… (I cheated and wrote two sentences on a few…
)
1971 :: I was born on February 7th to Alvy and Jessica Evans, and have two older brothers and an older sister.
1972 :: Though potty trained before my second birthday, I remember getting my diaper changed and being potty trained.
1973 :: My favorite toys were my “Little People” and my “Webble Wobbles” (Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down!)
1974 :: We moved from San Luis Obispo to Los Osos when my parents bought a brand new home.
1975 :: I remember that in the nursery of the church we went to, they had a Winnie the Pooh ride on toy that I loved to play on.
1976 :: When my Dad was transfered, we moved from Los Osos to Roseburg, Oregon. I also accepted Christ as my savior.
1977 :: Since I never went to kindergarten, I started school this year, attending Riverside Elementary.
1978 :: We moved to the other side of Roseburg, and I finished out first grade at Rose Elementary… I also met my best childhood friend, Mary Schulties.
1979 :: My Mom’s parents died, and we spent part of our summer down in San Diego, California.
1980 :: Our pastor’s grandson gave me my first kiss, under protest (Mine!
).
1981 :: Turns out I’m an early bloomer… My “shirt” started “blooming”. ![]()
1982 :: Had my first major crush… His name was Rob, and he was 2 years younger than me!
(Look who wanted to “rob” the cradle!
)
1983 :: My dad was laid off and couldn’t find work, so we moved to Portland, Oregon in search of a job.
1984 :: Just plugging along in middle school, and Awanas… And guy watching. ![]()
1985 :: We moved to a cheaper house to rent, so I switched school districts again, starting high school at John Marshall.
1986 :: I did some babysitting, but spent most of my free time with a book in my hand, or visiting friends.
1987 :: After completing the TAG program (Talented and Gifted) for my artistic abilities, I got my first job at Burger King as soon as I turned 16.
1988 :: I went to school full time, and worked 40 hours a week, and was lucky if I got 4 hours of sleep a night. (I wouldn’t wish that on anyone!… But I did remain on the honor roll at school.)… My life went to pot when my parents split up and went their seperate ways, leaving me to move in with my then boyfriend and his mother (I was 17).
1989 :: I made the worst mistake of my lfe, when I married my boyfriend as soon as I turned 18… I did manage to graduate from high school, though barely… It didn’t take long for the verbal (and sometimes physical) abuse to start. I also quit Burger King and went to work for Payless Drug Store.
1990 :: I finally got the nerve to leave the Ex, though filled with shame… I also had my first miscarraige.
1991 :: My Dad died of cancer, 11 days after I turned 20… My divorce was finalized, and I started rooming with my friend, Tami Craft, and her two boys.
1992 :: Turned 21! Went to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Universal Studeos, Sea World, The Queen Mary, and the Spruce Goose with my mom and my two brothers… I met Joe in June. I also became the Receiving Clerk at Payless!!!
1993 :: Joe and I started dating on August 14th, going to Dairy Queen for ice cream on our first date.
1994 :: Joe and I got married, and started trying for a baby right away… I also became bookkeeper at Payless, and still did receiving.
1995 :: Dr. Prescott said I wasn’t ovulating, so I started fertility treatments, but after a few months we had to stop becuase we couldn’t afford it (since our insurance didn’t cover it). We also bought our first home.
1996 :: Had my second miscarraige in January, and still had trouble conceiving… We started the adoption process in September.
1997 :: Whoo-Hoo! I got pregnant with Jared!!!!
1998 :: My little Jare-Bear arrived in January, and I realized that up until that point, I hadn’t really ever lived before. Joe changed jobs, quitting Payless and going to work as a truck driver for Container Recovery, Inc.
1999 :: Our first son was so much fun, we went and had another one! Josh was born in November!
2000 :: We wanted more kids, and we were hoping for a girl, so we started to TTC again… Had miscarriage #3 in September.
2001 :: We finally got our little Princess! Alicia was born in October! We tried to sell our home, but it wasn’t yet in God’s plans.
2002 :: Not long after starting to TTC, we had miscarraige #4 in July, finally getting pregnant again in December.
2003 :: In August we received some Pixie dust! Amanda was born!… Though we thought our family was complete, I couldn’t stop the yearning on my heart for another… I also started my first weight loss journey.
2004 :: I did well with my weight loss, and got down to 140 (a 69 pound loss in 9 months)… But after losing two more babies, (and my arthritis starting to really act up) I got depressed and started to slowly gain the weight back. *pout*
2005 :: I started a few new weight loss journeys, but I failed each time… I need to find something for the pain in my knees.
2006 :: We sold our first home, and bought a lot to put a new manufactured home on… We’re still waiting for that to be completed. We also welcomed another pregnancy, only to lose that one again… Now while I wait for the doctor’s OK to TTC, and I wait for our house to be completed, I’ll try to lose a few pounds in the mean time… And I’ll try to find my joy again.



That is a neat meme … and a way to “look back” over the years!
Wow. I think you remember more than I do! I do remember when you guys moved into that one house and you went to Marshall High. I was sooo bummed. I remember the house you lived in before that. Sabina and I used to always walk down the street to DQ and get the 99 cent peanut buster parfaits. That was back in the day when things were cheap!(er)

How do you remember all that stuff?? Not sure I could do that meme… it would take me a looooong time to get to 2006. LOL!
