Mr. Right

I saw this meme on Sue’s site, and thought I would give it a whirl.

His age: Joe is 39, and will be hitting the big four-oh this coming August.

How tall is he? Joe is 5′11″ tall… 11 inches taller than me.

How long have you been together (married)? We’ve been together for 13 years, and married for for 12 years.

How long did you know each other, before you got together? I met Joe in June 1992, when he became the new supervisor at the Payless Drug Store I worked for. We started dating 14 months later, in August 1993.

What physical features attracted you to him first? I guess I’d have to say it was his smile… But mainly it was his personality, and how nice he was to me.

Eye Color: Joe’s eyes are hazel.

Hair Color: Joe’s hair is brown, with just a few specks of gray… I have more gray than he does.

Hair Style: Joe likes his hair buzzed… What’s left of it that is! He has a receding hair line, plus he’s starting to bald in the middle… Guess he takes after his dad!

Normal Outfit: Joe normally wears jeans and a t-shirt, when he’s not wearing his work uniform.

How did you meet? As I said, Joe was the new supervisor at the store I worked at. I came to work one morning (before the store opened) and when the manager let me in, Joe was with him. Tom introduced us… Joe smiled at me really big, and he had me from Hello.

How serious is it? Well, seeing as we’ve been married for 12 years, I’d have to say it is pretty serious!

Are you “in love”? … I love Joe very much.

Do your parents like him? My Dad never met him, as Dad died more than a year before we even met. Mom took to him right away… Probably because he started calling her Mom right from the start (though it was because he couldn’t remember her name… But she loved it, and so he never stopped).

Do his parents like you? I think Joe’s mom has always liked me… But I’m not so sure about his Dad. I don’t think Jim was ready to give Joe up… When we announced our engagement over dinner, Joe’s dad spent the next half hour trying to convince Joe not to get married… Right in front of me. *sighs* … Jim really didn’t start to warm up until after I started having kids.

Do you trust him? For the most part yes… He’s done a couple things in the past, which I won’t get into, that caused a lot of pain and made it harder to trust… But we’re working through it.

Would you share a toothbrush with him? Um… No. Gross. I wouldn’t be able to share a toothbrush with anyone, not even my own kids. Just couldn’t do it…

Would he let you wear his pants? Well, if I could fit into them he would.

Does he smoke or do drugs? No, he has never tried either, and he never would. He hates both.

Do you have a shirt of his, that you like to sleep in? No… I couldn’t fit into them if I wanted to.

Do you like the way he smells? Is this a trick question? … It depends on the day. Joe tends to be lazy when he gets home (He’s never lazy at work), and he’s been known to go 3-4 days without a shower. *sighs* … I like how he smells after his shower.

Can you picture having kids with him? Hmmmm… I wonder?… I think it’s safe to say, 4 kids later, that yes I can picture it!

What bothers you the most about him? He’s a bit stuck up. He tends to think he can do no wrong, and that he’s as close to perfect as you can get…

Does he have a temper? Ummm… That would be me. … Normally Joe doesn’t have a temper, at least with me. He tends to clam up, and grump around the house… He can get really angry with the kids sometimes though. *sighs*

Are you happy to be with him? For the most part.

Does he embarrass you in public? Not really.

Does he have any piercing? Joe wouldn’t be caught dead with a piercing!

Any tattoos? Ditto

Does he have any scars that you know of? Oh, he has his share of little scars from his old acne days, and minor cuts, that sort of thing. He has a scar from the small pox vaccination… He has one on his hand that is my fault. When we were working at Payless, I put some broken glass in the garbage can. Later Joe went to push the garbage into the can tighter, and cut himself on the glass… I felt awful!!!

Is he a party dude, or stay at home? We’d both rather stay home.

Is he outgoing or shy? He is outgoing… He can strike up a conversation with anyone.

Does he love his Mama? Of course he does… But then I don’t think anyone who knew Elvina could NOT love her. A more patient, kind person I have never known.

Would he hang out with you and your friends? Yes he would… Just so he could listen to the gossip. He thrives on knowing things that aren’t any of his business!

Sing? Well, he likes to sing along with country songs… But we won’t get into the quality of his voice… Bless his heart.
