All About Josh (age 8)

Josh is such a wonderful boy! Of all the obedient kids, Josh has to be near the top. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate him! When ever I ask him to do something, he never even thinks to question it. He just does it… And he always does such a good job too. Out of all the kids, he does the best job at cleaning up and doing his chores. He takes his time, and even tends to orginize some… Gotta love that!

Josh always wants to help us too, whenever we are doing a “working project”… He helps clean the inside of the Durango, he helps when we work on the fence, he likes to help in the yard, he likes to help clean the bathrooms… He is Mr. Helpful!

He also likes to help with Amanda. He likes to teach her things. He works with her with her letters and writing her name, he reads to the girls, and he plays with them a lot.

But… He teases. A. LOT. He tends to pick on the girls (especially Alicia), until they are screeching or crying in frustration. It drives me CRAZY! *lol* … I know that brothers like to tease sisters, but as a sister myself, I wish he would JUST STOP ALREADY!

I think Josh’s love languages are “Words of Affirmation” and “Physical Touch” (Which is exactly the same as Joe)

Josh thrives on compliments… Which is probably one of the reasons he does so well with cleaning and his chores, etc. He is always needing us to praise him about something. If I compliment one of the other kids about something… Anything… Then Josh will have to ask how he is. It’s like he craves it. Needs it. Can’t live without it… He tries so hard to please us, and to make us happy with him all the time… In fact, the only thing I ever have to get on him about is the way he teases Alicia, and the squabbles he gets into with Jared (which are usually Jared’s fault). When I do get upset with him, he acts like his heart will break. He needs to reassurance that I still love him, and always will.

He has always been a snuggle bunny too. When he was a baby, he was happiest when he was snuggled in a lap… While now he doesn’t want to be held as much as he did then (because he wants to play), he still needs lots of hugs. When we’re out and about, he clings to me. Insisting on holding my hand at all times, and wanting to sit next to me when we eat out. He and Amanda (she’s almost always on the other side) sit so close, that I can barely eat because I have no elbow room. *lol*

While Josh likes to play video games, he’s still very much into toys. Since Jared rarely plays with toys anymore, Josh has started playing with the girls a lot (the girls LOVE this). They like to play with thier plastic animals, “zoo keepers”, and dinosaurs. They also like to play “animal land” with their stuffed animals.

Another way that Josh is like Joe, is money. Josh loves to have money. He loves to bring it out and count it, and he HATES to part with it. He wants the things he can buy with it, but would much rather someone else buy that thing for him, so that he can keep the money. You should have seen him at Christmas. He wanted to buy Jared and the girls presents, but when it came down to paying for them, you should have seen the pained look on his face! *lol* He SLOWLY opens his wallet, SLOWLY gets his money back, and then sadly looks at the little bit of change he gets back. Also, he will do almost anything if you offer him a buck to do it. *lol*

But, Oh how I love my little Joshy Pooh!
