All About Amanda (age 4)

Amanda is my little charmer. With her sweet smile, and infectious ways, she can twist even strangers around her little finger in moments. She is such a silly little goose, and yes… Even a stinkpot at times. *lol*

Amanda is very much a mama’s girl, and wants me all the time. Most of the time (but not all the time) she refuses to hold Daddy’s hand while we are out, and will cry if I am not either holding her hand or carrying her. She always wants to sit next to me when we eat, and sit on my lap while we watch movies. She always wants tons of hugs and kisses, and she LOVES IT when I hold her like a baby and sing to her.

Because we’ve spoiled her a little (being the baby), you have to be REALLY firm with her when you want her to do something (like pick up toys). I have to make sure I get at her level and look right in her eyes, and tell her firmly what I expect of her, and what will happen if she doesn’t do it. If you don’t do that she won’t take you seriously, and will go off and do her own thing.

She gets over things really quickly when she’s been upset though, which is nice… Because her boucy self is so adorable!

She has a mothering nature about her, and likes to “nurture” her dolls and stuffed animals in ways that Alicia never has. She loves to pack them around and snuggle with them. She is also much better than Alicia at entertaining herself, and can be found playing by herself often. It’s so much fun to watch her imagination at play, when she doesn’t know you’re watching. Too cute!

Amanda loves music. She likes to listen to it, and she likes to sing songs… But she LOVES to dance. It is her passion… And she also loves to be the center of attention. So she will go in the living room to dance, and make sure that everyone is watching her… And if we have company, all the better. She wants them to watch her too… Then she’ll do her very dramatic dance routines, and then she waits for the applause and she bows. It is cute beyond words!

I am *hoping* we can get her into some sort of dance or ballet classes. Here in Molalla, classes like that don’t start until 5 years old, which Amanda will be in August. So I am hoping we can get her into the fall classes, as I know she would love it. It depends on what day, and what time the lessons are… We get this quarerly mini magazine thing that lists all the classes/activities in Molalla, so when the fall one comes out we’ll look into it.

I know that as Amanda grows into a more mature little girl, her love languages will either change, or become more obvious… I know that “Physical Touch” is probably her top one, as she is a major cuddle bunny… Her second one I am not to sure about… She does like to spend quality time with you, but she also likes to have time by herself. She also loves to help us do chores like clean the bathroom, but getting her to pick up toys is like pulling teeth. She does like praise, but doesn’t go looking for compliments either… I guess time will tell.
